It is difficult to believe that one year ago, Sarah, the kids and I were getting ready to experience our first Rosh Hashanah together with the South Caulfield Hebrew. Much has transpired since then and it has been a year full of excitement, activity and of course lots of positive energy. It is once again that we eagerly await to experience another beautiful High Holiday period together with all of you, our beloved community, and now extended family.

Rosh Hashanah is a time to ponder and reflect on the year gone by and to commit oneself to improving on the things that were not to good and to enhance the things that went well. This can be said and done with every area and aspect of life. Think about how the year has been with your family relationships, work environment, community life and of course in your relationship with G-d Himself. Take time over the next few days to think about those and other areas in your life and to be honest with yourself where things need improving and at the same areas in which you can be proud of your achievements.

As a community I think we can be proud of our achievements over the past year and that together with an extremely dedicated Board of Management, office staff, volunteers and members, we have accomplished many great things. But as we stand close to the eve of Rosh Hashanah it is a time to plan ahead for the year to come. There is still much work to be done and I sincerely believe that if we all continue to function as a family and a unified community we can achieve far greater things!
